Most Wanted 2012: no official browser release identified

Updated 2026-10-29

No official 2012 browser release is listed on the Steam and EA pages checked on 29 October 2026. The unofficial browser projects reviewed on this site target Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). This is a bounded source check, not proof that no experimental 2012 project can exist anywhere.

Why the names collide

Criterion developed the 2012 game. It is set in Fairhaven, it has no story campaign, and its Most Wanted list is ten drivers. The 2005 game is Rockport, a blacklist, and a story. Wikipedia documents both. Buying one does not give you the other.

The reviewed browser projects target 2005. A search containing 2012 should not be redirected to those projects without explaining the version mismatch. If your disc or your phone icon says 2012, use the store links below instead of web.nfsmwo.com.

Store links

Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/1262560. EA: ea.com Most Wanted page. Google Play: com.ea.games.nfs13_na.

If you wanted the 2005 blacklist in a browser, go back to the homepage. That is the game the three community clients load.

Questions and answers

Where do I buy the 2012 PC game?

US Steam lists USD 19.99 on 29 October 2026, a single-store price. Steam and EA independently publish 20 GB required disk space, not a download measurement. Steam requires the EA account/client. Regional storefronts may show different prices.

Can I play 2012 online?

Current uptime was not verified. The cited Steam thread is from March-April 2025: it begins with sign-in failures, then quotes scheduled maintenance, and a later reply says multiplayer works. It establishes neither a permanent shutdown nor current availability. No session was tested here.

What about the phone game?

On 29 October 2026 US Google Play showed USD 4.99 and update date 21 December 2018; Apple US showed USD 4.99 and update date 3 December 2019. Each is a single-store source, not a device-compatibility promise. These are mobile adaptations, not the 2005 PC game or a full desktop conversion.
