For unofficial Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) browser projects, browser API support and game compatibility are different questions. Public project instructions and browser-vendor documentation were checked, without a GPU benchmark or a game launch.
Start with the project, then check the browser
dezm0n specifies current desktop Chrome or Edge, hardware acceleration and WebGPU. NFSMW Online names Chrome or Edge, includes a WebGPU warning, and documents lite mode plus an offered older graphics path in some cases. These are operator instructions, not proof that every mode uses the same renderer.
Chrome vendor documentation describes initial WebGPU support on selected desktop operating systems from Chrome 113, not a minimum version for Most Wanted. Mozilla documents default Windows support from Firefox 141; the blanket claim that every Firefox needs a flag is wrong. API availability remains dependent on platform, hardware and drivers.

Published figures are not benchmark results
Steam and EA both list 20 GB of disk space for the 2012 PC game. Those official requirements are not the size of a browser transfer, and their historical Windows minimums do not guarantee present launcher support.
NFSMW Online notes grouped under 21 October 2026 say phone startup uses about 200 MB less memory and lite mode downloads about 90 MB less. This is a single-source operator comparison with no named baseline build, not an independent measurement or a total memory requirement.
Dual-GPU laptops
The dezm0n page instructs Windows users with two GPUs to close Chrome, including background processes, then relaunch with chrome.exe --force_high_performance_gpu. Attribute this to that project only. The page notes that the browser and Windows choose the adapter; the flag does not promise a fix or a particular frame rate.

Does Chrome on Linux work?
The Chrome documentation and caniuse snapshot flag Linux limitations, while NFSMW Online documents graphics diagnostics for Chrome on Linux. None establishes that your GPU and driver run this game. Use current stable software and project diagnostics; this guide does not recommend unsafe WebGPU flags or bypassing security restrictions.
How much space does the browser game need?
No verified total is published here for the browser clients. The MWO mod archive is not the full game. Steam and EA agree on 20 GB of required disk space for the separate 2012 PC title, not a browser cache or measured download. The old 2005 numeric minimum could not be rechecked because PCGamingWiki returned 403.
