Web port or an online client

Updated 2026-10-29

For unofficial Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) browser play, the deciding difference is multiplayer: dezm0n says online and LAN are unsupported; the other two projects advertise online races. No session or performance test was run for this comparison.

The split that matters

Everything else is secondary to whether you want other drivers in the session.

Online column combines Most Wanted Online and NFSMW Online where they agree, and names them where they do not.

A practical pick

Open the port when you want Rockport on this computer, in this browser, with a save you can export, and you are fine playing alone. Open Most Wanted Online or NFSMW Online when the point is a race or a free roam with other people.

Do not expect to import a port save into an online career. No page describes that conversion.

Questions and answers

Can I add friends on the web port?

No. dezm0n says online and LAN are not supported. A Russian news note from 21 October 2026 repeats that. There is no lobby to join.

Which one looks sharper?

I am not publishing a frame-rate comparison. dezm0n says the default video mode is 1920 by 1080 and that speed depends on your CPU and GPU. NFSMW Online has a lite mode for phones and low-memory PCs. Those are feature statements, not a benchmark.
