The dezm0n web port, in plain terms
Updated 2026-10-29
The unofficial dezm0n port targets Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). Its public itch page describes WebAssembly, WebGPU, desktop Chrome or Edge, local saves and no online/LAN modes. This review read those instructions without pressing Run game.
What the itch page commits to
Controls are keyboard or a gamepad, edited under Options, then Controls, and stored with the player profile. Video settings are kept across restarts. The default is the highest preset at 1920 by 1080. Performance is described as depending on CPU and GPU, with no frame-rate number attached.
Saves and settings live in browser storage. Files and saves, then Manage, is the import and export screen. Autosave has to be on. The author writes that the full career and the automatic save after a race still need testing.
How to start, and the dual-GPU line
Run game, then Start game. Create an alias in the original menu. If the laptop has two GPUs, the page says to quit Chrome, including its background processes, and launch it with chrome.exe --force_high_performance_gpu.
The itch timestamps, not dates calculated from relative labels, give publication as 9 October 2026 at 22:16 UTC and latest update as 23 October 2026 at 11:40 UTC. This is a single platform source; neither date proves that the game server works now.
Questions and answers
Is the source code public?
The itch page does not link a repository. Comments ask for one. As of 29 October 2026 I had not found a public repo for this port.
Who is dezm0n?
The itch author page lists other browser ports, including titles such as Hollow Knight and FlatOut 2. The Most Wanted page is marked in development and notes AI-assisted code. I am not treating a star rating on itch as a review from this site.
What is it not?
It is not an EA release, not a remaster, and not a multiplayer server. It is a browser port of the 2005 PC game with the limits the author printed.
